The Buckskin Gulch. It is the mother of all Slot Canyons.
Hiking its full length through its confluence with the Paria River
takes the better part of a week, much of it spent in claustrophobic
passages such as this one.
This large log, swept into the canyon during a flash flood hangs
precariously over the floor of the canyon. Over twenty feet above,
it is a testament to the powerful forces that have shaped this
incredible landscape.
