Within its boundaries there are
sandy beaches, rocky coastline, tide pools, and abundant marine
life. And the harbor with all its activities such as the Tall ships
festival and other boating related imagery make the town incredibly
diverse photographically for such a small area geographically.
Beaches and Headlands - Dana
Point has two main beach parks, Salt Creek State Beach and Doheny
State Beach. (Strands Beach is located on the south end of Salt Creek
Beach) Jutting out between these two beaches is the promontory point
of the Dana Point headlands, a striking land mark visible for miles
from many areas along the southern California coast.

Harbor and Landmarks - Primarily
a small vessel harbor, Dana Point harbor is one of the most picturesque
harbors in Southern California, Created in a small cove under soaring
sandstone bluffs in the 1970's the harbor is home the Ocean Institute
and the tall ships Brig Pilgrim and Spirit of Dana Point.
