Ships
From classic full sail images of the ships themselves, to more intimate
pictures of the rigging and other areas of the vessels, a wealth of
imagery is on hand. Most of the tall ships in this collection are
based on the west coast of the US. Featured ships include: the Brig
Pilgrim and Lady Washingtion, the Star of India,
offical state tall ship the Californian, as well as the schooners
Bill of Rights and Swift of Ipswich. Also images of
transports and other comtemporary vessles
Marine
Life - Images primarily from the west coast
of the US and Antarctica. Gray Whales which migrate past southern
California are difficult to photography until the arrive at their
birthing grounds in the lagoons of Mexico. Here they allow you to
get up close and sometimes even approach small boats for a scratch
on the nose! Humpbacks, sperm whales and the wild dolphins seen
in these images were not as friendly. The orcas were mainly photographed
along Vancouver Island in British Columbia.
